OUR PAPER
The Cloverdale Reveille has an interesting history. Few weekly publications in California or elsewhere have the unique record of continuous publication since 1878.
The Reveille was established in a small two-roomed house on the corner of West (now Cloverdale Boulevard) and Third streets on October 6, 1878. After the required year of continuous publication The Cloverdale Reveille was adjudicated by the Superior Court of Sonoma County under the date of March 3, 1879, Case No. 36106, thus declaring The Reveille a newspaper of general circulation. This court decree made The Reveille eligible for second class mail in the United States Post Office.
The court decree issued in 1879 is still in force as The Reveille has never missed producing a weekly issue since its founding. Over its many years of continuous publication The Reveille has recorded many historic events, and has experienced many different production methods, from hand-set type and hand-fed presses to the latest digital technology.
